The account requirement isn't there to gatekeep you. It's what lets your companion actually remember you between sessions. Memory, saved companions, and voice preferences all have to live somewhere tied to a profile. A fully anonymous chat with zero account would also mean zero memory, and memory is the entire reason to pick a companion over a one-off chatbot in the first place.
